The CokeMachine and SnackMachine use EPROMs with UCC software on them. (The SnackMachine ROM contains its own compressed source!) It's also useful to be able to read and program other types of memory chips and microcontrollers.

We have a DOS machine to burn 27C32 and 27C256 EPROMs or similar for snack machine development, it's a tricky part of the build process. We have forgotten how to bring up DOS networking. We have a UV EPROM eraser in the snack machine base (belongs to [HMC]?).

A replacement ought to read and write other types of device, and have good software support that won't bitrot as fast, needing to be installed on some particular DOS or Windows machine.
